As I write this blog my backpack is packed, my bike loaded up, and we are ready to head to a bush church until tomorrow night!  It is 5 km away (3 miles), so about an hour long bike ride ahead of us on unknown terrain. TIA (this is Africa)  Cycling classes at the rec didn’t quite prepare me for this… 😉  The biking is still a bit of a struggle for me, but I am adjusting to it and have only fallen once! (A child jumped onto the back of the bike as I was riding and through me off…)  Please pray for safety for our teams as we travel to and from the church.

While at the bush church, we will be doing house visits, preaching, teaching at the church, and singing.  One of the things we have to be ready for is to share our testimony or a teaching at any time.  While this was daunting at first, God has been placing very specific things on each of our hearts to teach and preach on.  We are learning more and more that the only way we can survive here is to be COMPLETELY Spirit led.  I will admit that it was a struggle at first for me not to try to plan things out on my own.  It is what I do, yet I am so out of my element here and felt weak and inadequate.  Yet in my weakness, He is strong and is teaching me more and more about that daily.

I will elaborate more on the bush church, our experiences, and what God is doing here in my next post.  I do, however, have some prayer requests.

HEALTH!!!  I need everyone to be prayer warriors for our teams here.  We are in a new environment and are being exposed to things that our bodies are not used to, and it is seriously affecting us.  I have gotten 3 migraines in the short time we’ve been here.  While some of this is strictly physical, I feel that we are also under spiritual attack with our health.  Please continue to pray for our health.

Fear.  I have felt very under attack by a spirit of fear.  It seems constant.  I know that this is not from God, He doesn’t give us a Spirit of fear.  Please pray that God will protect me from these attacks and that I will be able to find security and rest in Him.

Pray for humility as we preach the Word to these bush churches.  Pray that we will be able to get out of the way and allow the Spirit to lead us. God has already gone ahead of us and prepared our path.  Pray that we will be filled with love and compassion for those who we encounter.  Pray that Christ’s love for them will shine through us.  Pray for tender hearts ready to hear the Word.

Well, off to buy bottled water for the bush church!  I love you all!
