Hey y’all!

My name is Kathleen Blakeney, I’m 22 years old, and I’m from Dallas, TX. I am a senior Communication major (Theatre/Business minor, WHEW!!) at the University of Missouri and will be graduating in May. The most important thing to know about me is that I love the Lord will all my heart! Everything else is secondary to that 1 true fact. Yet here is a bit about me.
The lone Tiger in a sea of Longhorns!!

I have been blessed with an amazing family and phenomenal friends who support, love, and challenge me daily.  I also have 2 godsons, Jacob (8) and Benjamin (6) who I absolutely adore! They encourage me through their zest for life, love, and honesty.

My mom, brother Ryan, and I.

I love the outdoors (hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding, you name it!!) and am mesmerized by the night sky. It is where I truly see the Lord.   I spent a semester in Perth, Australia, and I’m IN LOVE with the country! I hope to return someday, if only for a visit.

I am a very relational person. I’ll chose one-on-one time building a deeper friendship over hanging with a big group any day. Though I can be serious, I have a goofy side and love finding the joy in life! I have a heart for missions and serving others. I have spent the last 3 winter breaks serving in Harmons, Jamaica which is where I truly fell in love with the Lord and His children. God opened my eyes not only to the great need in the world, but also to the depth of His love for us and desire for us to share it with others. Therefore, I am so blessed and excited to be able to serve in Africa with y’all! I can’t wait to get to know each of you better in the following months!

  7. Kathleen!!!
I can’t say how wonderful it was to meet you! Your fun side and awesome chipmunk singing skills still has me laughing! Let me say that your mother’s heart, wisdom, faith, love, beautiful smile, and sweet spirit has completely overwhelmed me. The beauty of your abandonment before your peers and God, your own simple rawness and “realness” on your journey with Him has blessed and challenged my heart more than you can imagine. I am so looking for to getting to know you better in Mexico and I honestly can’t wait! Blessings and you are always in my prayers…Love you
